Car Tuning specialist sets up regional HQ here

Car tuning and customisation specialist Germany ABT Sportsline has set up their regional headquarters in Singapore to invest $ 1.5 million in the showroom with a spanking new on one of the Commonwealth.

The company, which performs pre and after tuning for cars of the Volkswagen group, Germany already had a two-decade-long partnership with local car tuning and sport fit-out specialist Autovox, led by Brinal Chua.

But the latest attempt marked a move by the company to aggressively expand regional footprint.

ABT Sportsline CEO Hans-Jurgen Abt, who took over the business from his father (and grandfather before that), the Singapore Office will spearhead and oversaw the expansion of the group in Southeast Asia, Greater China and Australasia.

"We have a history of 115 years, mostly in Europe, where we have cemented our position as the leading premium car tuner for Audi and Volkswagens," he said. "As we expand our global footprint, Asia has become a very large market and important. Singapore, in particular, where the car is very expensive and very much appreciated, is a very important market for customized cars, from a very demanding and consumer demand. "
